I have started working with resin! I'm having boat loads of fun learning what to do and not to do. I am learning that cleanup for this stuff is extensive and messy. It's very time consuming.
I'd like to also take the time to say this: If you don't follow the directions, it will end up costing you more than anything else.
I found this out the hard way. I really did.
Enough of the warnings! On with the entry. You can embed anything into this stuff; candy, sharp objects, etc. I love how versatile this stuff is. I went crazy and bought sugar sprinkles, button charms, letter beads, and I'm still going and finding more. I had a few learning experiences, but I have a feeling this will be a good idea and a good thing to sell, no?
I have a gallery set up for the pendants on Deviantart. For anyone interested.
I am selling at a convention in Louisiana called MechaCon, and one on the coastline of Mississippi called Coast Con. Here's to hoping I can actually make some money off of these ventures into a little business!
I have a commission for a necklace from Ouran Host Club for a Haruhi cosplayer. The necklaces in question look a little like this:
I found a seller on etsy who had those tags up for sale. I snatched some. I have the long beads as well. I just need to remember how to use crimp beads for this thing. I am stringing the necklace rather than making links. I'll see how this goes. The cosplayer needs it by next month. I'm hoping to have more posted on it soon.
There's also another couple of prospects with the Howl necklace. Jeez...I didn't realize it'd sell so well. Makes me happy to know I did a good job.
